Bacterial Meningitis

Description

A serious inflammation of the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord, caused by bacteria. Symptoms include severe headache, stiff neck, fever, and sensitivity to light.

Carbohydrate Dependency: Streptococcus pneumoniae (common cause) is carbohydrate-dependent, relying on glucose for growth and virulence. Weakens significantly during fasting or ketogenic/carnivore diets when glucose is restricted.
